Barnwell Man Dies in Early Morning Wreck
A Barnwell man, Peter A. Consolie, 32, died at the scene when a 1995 Chevrolet Suburban left Old Barnwell Road, overcorrected, and rolled several times. Scotty Hartzog, 35, of Blackville, faces felony DUI charges. a 23-year-old Barnwell woman, Tobi Lott, is in serious condition with both survivors ejected.

Robbery at York Street home invades Aiken resident
Monroe Allen, 56, was shot twice during an armed home invasion on York Street in Aiken at about 5 a.m. He was hospitalized with wounds to the arm and leg after grappling with a tall gunman while two accomplices fled in a white car with a blue top. Police found two .25 caliber shell casings at the scene. Allen was in good condition and expected to be discharged soon.
