County OKs second reading of Aiken Mall chickens ordinances
Aiken County Council approved two incentives for the Aiken Mall redevelopment with unanimous votes. The measures include a joint county Edgefield business park described as a paper park and a special source revenue credit agreement with SE Aiken LLC. The panel also passed a final reading adjusting the FY2018 budget to cover a $1 million shortfall and backed a plan to study SRS as a plutonium pit production site. The chicken zoning ordinance gained 8-1 for passage, with District 2’s Ca mille Furgiuele opposing. Andrew Siders was named 2018 vice chairman by an 8-0 vote, with Siders abstaining. The meeting ran under an hour.
