Scores weighted by subgroup show district grade plan
Busbee outlined a system weighting male and female scores separately and collectively with subgroups. Schools and the district would receive letter grades to aid parent understanding. About 25 low performers would be named priority schools for extra attention. 10 percent with significant gaps would also receive focus. Aiken School Board member Hazen welcomed a consistent, less punitive measure. Senior writer Rob Novit notes his decade at the paper.
