South Carolina braces for school report cards rollout

The Education Oversight Committee will travel to counties this month to prep community leaders for the November release of state report cards. Debbie Elmore said about 40 stakeholders will discuss content and aims to engage leaders in guiding schools, while the four page report includes spending per student, dropout rates and teacher salaries.

Judge Steps Down From Graniteville Summary Court

Judge Joey L Addie resigned from the county summary court in Graniteville. Chief Magistrate Rodger Edmonds said the resignation becomes effective Friday and state investigators from the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division are probing Addie’s office. Edmonds declined further comment noting Addie was well liked and attentive to duties.
