Woman charged in puppys death jailed in Aiken
Robyn Bright Bacon, 39, of Newberry Street in Aiken, was arrested Monday and charged with ill treatment of animals after police found a frozen dead puppy in a cage and a chained dog in near-freezing weather. She had been cited for cruelty on Jan. 2 but was not jailed until now. Bond set at 5,000 dollars. The case spurred calls for tethering regulations from SPCA Albrecht Center leader Barbara Nelson.
