Noise drives nuns to seek new solitude
In Newport News Virginia fifteen nuns and four novices from the Monastery of the Poor Clares plan to move to a 4.42 acre site in New Kent County to escape noise from Langley AFB flights radios and traffic. Bishop Walter F. Sullivan approved the move and the diocese may finance it by buying the old monastery. The order keeps cloistered life with limited outside contact and uses one sister as messenger.
