Marker to honor old Aiken hospitals to be unveiled next month
A marker noting the historical significance of the old Aiken County Hospital on Richland Avenue will be erected at the County Complex site and unveiled at the Aiken County Historical Society meeting on February 26. Built in 1917 with support from Winter Colony residents, the hospital served the community, closed in 1924, then reopened in 1927 after rental to Aiken County.
