A government and private studies show teen marijuana use declining since the late 1970s. A Gallup Youth Survey of 542 youths found 19 percent smoked marijuana at least once, down from 40 percent in 1980, while 6.3 percent of high school seniors smoked daily in 1982, down from 10.7 percent in 1978.

Board Considers Teen Films Growing Up Program for Schools
The Aiken County Board of Education will meet at 7 30 tonight at Estaciagal Cari 3 Badgefield to discuss a six tape Growing Up program developed by the South Carolina Medical Association and the South Carolina Department of Education to help middle school students understand physical and emotional changes of early adolescence. The program requires trained teachers using guidelines and has wide support from principals and district leadership. Also on the agenda are an administrator training course for prospective district leaders first grade readiness test results for 1983 personnel appointments teaching evaluation and a November 1983 financial report.
