North Augusta City Council approves riverfront deals
The January meeting lasted 25 minutes with unanimous votes on routine items. The council gave third reading to abandoning unimproved central riverfront streets to aid the Hammond's Ferry 55 acre first phase and approved amended riverfront real estate and development agreements. The 2004 municipal jury box with registered voter names was also approved.

The American Cancer Society hosts its 10th Relay for Life kickoff meeting January 22 at 6 p.m. at Aiken Regional Medical Centers with May 12 at Aiken High School planned. Aiken Newcomer's Club meets at Houndslake Country Club Tuesday with a 10 a.m. registration and 10:30 a.m. business meeting.
