Firefighter loses house to flames
The Gran iteville-Vaucluse-Warrenville department turned over its fire investigation to the Aiken County Sheriff s Office after a second fire at the home of firefighter Charles Belk destroyed his residence at 125 Springdale Road. Belk, a volunteer with GVW, saw a mattress origin in the first mobile home fire around 5:30 a.m. before a second blaze engulfed half the house two hours later. The investigator will determine if the second fire rekindled the first.
