Legislator Calls for Senate Review of Sanford Rebuke

South Carolina state Senator Jake Knotts labeled a House rebuke of Gov. Mark Sanford a political whitewash and urged the Senate to review the case. The House proposed censure cites dereliction and abuses of power but lawmakers say impeachment is unwarranted.

Two county GOPs censure Sen. Graham in SC vote

In Lexington County the Republican executive committee, by 13 to 7, censured Sen. Lindsey Graham over stance on immigration, climate policy and the bank bailout. The move followed Charleston County’s earlier censure. Greenville County previously censured him two years prior.
