Road rage suit settles in Columbia federal court
Laurell Drumming and Tammy Drumming sued former Aiken police lieutenant Frank Condly over a January 3 1999 traffic incident. The case, set for trial next week, settled with undisclosed terms. Slain toddler Brittany Weeks to be laid to rest today
Funeral services for 1 month old Brittany Nicole Weeks are held at Clearwater Baptist Church. Her relatives plan to place a brown teddy bear in her casket. Authorities say she died from blunt force trauma amid alleged abuse. Her mother Shannon Weeks and boyfriend Roy Morris face charges and remain jailed without bail. The child was taken to an Augusta hospital after the 911 call from New Ellenton, dying about 20 hours later.

Wise jury selection begins in Beaufort
Jurors are being impaneled in Beaufort County for the murder trial of Arthur Hastings Wise 48 of Aiken accused of killing four co workers and wounding three at the R E Phelan Co in Sept 1997. Judge Thomas W Cooper Jr ordered selection from Beaufort due to pretrial publicity. Jury pool faced high security and more than 30 of 400 potential jurors were excused. Jury selection continues Jan 22 in Beaufort with sequestration planned in Aiken.
