Scouts meet with moms in prison
In Wetumpka Alabama 8 year old Christopher Curtis and his mother Rosalind Martin visit Tutwiler Prison monthly with Girl Scout Group 821. The program Aid to Inmate Mothers runs at 24 prisons nationwide and aims to give children exposure to mothers while promoting teamwork and integrity. The meeting ends with the mothers still inside as the children exit through heavy doors, highlighting the dual hope of reunion next year and a normal moment for the pair.
