Charles Schulz ends the Peanuts daily strip after almost 50 years. The Aiken Standard will begin running classic Peanuts from 25 years ago starting Tuesday and will poll readers to decide future comics for the page.
The Aiken NAACP will meet at Smith-Hazel Recreation Center at 7 p.m. to plan a march to the Statehouse and a MLK Day rally. The Monday Jan 17 event memorializes Dr. King and supports the NAACP boycott of the Confederate flag. Special guest William Daron will discuss Medicare and Social Security issues.
