Theologian Claims Jesus Embraced Women's Equality
Elkins West Virginia AP theologian William E. Phipps argues Jesus would back equal rights for women. He says Christian tradition was shaped by male interpreters and cites the Bible’s Genesis equality as foundation for shared dominion and sexuality. He notes Vatican rejection of his first book Was Jesus Married and outlines views in Influential Theologians On Women.
