SunTrust Bank filed a civil action in Aiken County against Joel Conte and General Gold Products Inc. alleging Conte absconded with near 1 million dollars in principal interest and fees. Reenactment Opens Civil War Life To Young Viewers
Campgrounds near Aiken host thousands of students for a two day Civil War reenactment of the Battle of White Pines and Battle of Aiken. Young visitors tour camps learn about antebellum life, wartime medicine and daily labor while reenactors showcase weapons, music and cooking. Proceeds fund historic preservation projects at Woodward farm on Coleman Bridge Road.

Aiken to Host National Instructors School on Bikes
The Aiken Department of Public Safety will host the National Instructors School from September 15 to 20, drawing officers from the United States and Canada. The six day, 48 hour course covers tactics, firearms, maintenance and patrol skills for bicycles. SEBA selected Aiken after visiting in March when ADPS hosted the Advanced Police Mountain Bike School, citing terrain facilities and experienced personnel including Karl Odenthal and Master PSO Dave Myers.
