Security Federal Corporation reports a dramatic rise in operating income for the quarter ending Dec. 31 1996 to 456 898 or 1 10 per share up from 244 866 or 59 cents in 1995. The nine month period shows net income of 558 263 or 1 35 per share vs 561 540 or 51 37. Without a one time SAIF assessment the 1996 nine month result would be 995 540 or 2 39 per share up 77 percent. Tim Simmons says gains stem from higher net interest income aided by ATM upgrades and data processing improvements.
