Beauford County Officials Identify Gunshot Death of Aiken Resident Pryor
Beaufort County officials confirmed that Aiken resident Joe Travis Pryor died from a self inflicted gunshot wound to the head. Pryor’s body was found at a Beaufort County home set on fire after Pryor reportedly started two fires over the weekend. Investigators say the first fire occurred at his estranged wife’s residence in Aiken and the second at Pryor’s own home in Burton. The fire at the Burton house revealed human remains later identified as Pryor. The arson investigation is being handled by the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division.
