Nineteen bombs exploded in Paris and Versailles with minor damage and no injuries officials said. A Corsican nationalist group claimed responsibility via the Corsican National Liberation Front which calls for ending colonization on Corsica. The front had claimed attacks last Sunday night. one Foreign Legion soldier was killed and two wounded.

Barnes Wins Council Vote On Reorganization Plan
Aiken County Council approved two ordinances after a three hour session with disagreements. The measures move Indigent Care Department employees and Planning Commission staff under County Administrator W Scott Barnes as divisions reporting to him. The 5 to 4 vote followed executive session approval last Tuesday and prompted surprise from Planning Commission chair Clifton Anderson who warned of major changes to daily operations. Anderson urged tabling the Planning Commission portion and resuming Feb 22 talks to cooperate with the panel.

Family Massacre at Farwell Farm Leaves Seven Dead
Seven members of a Farwell area family were found slain inside a rural farmhouse and a bullet-riddled pickup. An infant survived. Police searched for at least one suspect and a 1980 Buick LeSabre stolen around the time of the killings. The victims included a man and wife who owned the home, two daughters, and three grandchildren.
