Snow blankets Aiken County as winter storm hits
Aiken County logged 4 to 6 inches of snow from Friday afternoon into Saturday, the heaviest since January 2002. Schools closed early, businesses shut, shoppers stocked up, and residents built snowmen and played in the powder. By Saturday midday most snow had melted, but about 1,000 Aiken Electric Cooperative customers remained without power.
