Aiken residents Gaye Vause and Kathryn Wade of Life Choices Pregnancy Care Center joined thousands at a mid day prayer rally on the State house grounds led by Rev. Franklin Graham. They carried a load of Valentine's Day cookies for legislators.
Aiken County arrest records list Daquadar Salley Jalenzio Tyler Brandon Donnell Jackson Lamond Montr eal Salley and Traquan Salley charged with high and aggravated assault in a January attack on a 34 year old man who suffered a cracked skull and possible brain damage. Jackson also faces charges of third degree assault and battery petit larceny and chop shop ownership. The incident on Triangle Drive involved six suspects and a gun claim with the victim seeking drugs. he required surgery and possible brain damage. All but Traquan Salley were jailed on bond. Traquan remains held in Columbia.
The Doris C. Gravat Detention Center released bookings for February 9 2016 including Leteria Fairley 22 with bench warrants Earl Harris 31 disorderly conduct Christina Loxton 26 and several others. Names listed show arrest charges but not proven guilt and some inmates await warrants or backlogs with cases including drug offenses theft and failure to appear. A two car crash on Park Avenue near Kershaw Street left one driver with minor injuries and the other driver leaving the scene. The building housed the Wayside Project Youth Development Center, a nonprofit serving at risk youth, now vacant after the owner's spouse passed away. The collision is under investigation by the Aiken Public Safety Department.
Aiken County deputies pursued a juvenile who wrecked his car at Jefferson Davis and Duncan Road after fleeing a traffic stop. He allegedly accelerated beyond 100 mph before the crash. A Clearwater man reported Tuesday that his debit card was used for a $700 unauthorized transaction.
