One-Car Fatality Baffles Montmorenci Resident
Robert Donald Wilson, 53, of 128 Coral Reef Road in Montmorenci, died when his eastbound car on Old Tory Trail Road left the road and hit a tree. He was thrown from the vehicle and pronounced dead at 1:59 p.m. He was not wearing a seat belt. Wilson worked for Aiken County and was married to Assistant Administrator Joan Wilson. An investigation by the South Carolina Highway Patrol is pending.

Lexington County Jail Escapee Recaptured
David Leon Langford 22 of Batesburg-Leesville was captured by Columbia police at a Columbia apartment after a tip. He had escaped from Lexington County Detention Center where he served a two year sentence for grand larceny traffic violations and a drug charge. He was found with cocaine and is charged with possession of cocaine and escape. He is returned to the Lexington County Detention Center.
