Tax Changes Raise Tax on Interest Income For 1982
The 1982 tax year requires reporting all interest income unless from tax exempt sources such as municipal bonds. Interest up to $400 may be reported on simplified lines. over $400 requires Schedule B or Part I of Form 1040A. All savers certificates have a lifetime exclusion of up to $100 single or $200 joint, with a total ceiling across certificates.
