Jaycees Ordered To Stop Selling Tickets To Show
YORK AP A circuit judge ordered several Jaycee groups to halt ticket sales for a charity magic show after the state attorney general filed suit against the producers. The temporary order targets the York Lancaster Gaffney and Jaycee chapters and North American Productions Inc. amid claims of unregistered solicitation and excessive proceeds. About 5 000 tickets had been sold for three performances at York's Harold Johnson Middle School auditorium, with 1 200 seats available. The case seeks compliance under the 1972 Charitable Solicitation Act and directs a court appearance Friday.
