Two Boys Die In Aiken County Trailer Fire
Two eight and nine year old brothers died from carbon monoxide poisoning and burns after a trailer overturned in high winds near Windsor. The fire started when a kerosene heater spilled as the trailer toppled, officials said. The boys attended Oakwood Windsor Elementary. Parents and another child survived. mother treated and released. Winds gusted up to 47 mph with 3.91 inches of rain in 24 hours.

Aiken County Delays Tax Reassessment Amid Inflation
Aiken County Council and school board face 15 percent inflation on frozen incomes as Tax Assessor Ray McKinney says the county cannot finish the reassessment this year. Neighbors Survive Mobile Home Destruction in Storm
Shirley Patterson and her son Rondell escaped a mobile home overturn during a strong storm. Rondell's decision to sleep with his mother saved their lives as the trailer shattered but both survived. Shirley received bruises at Aiken Community hospital. Rondell was unharmed. Nearby, Wyman and Corine Corley described their home being lifted several times but stayed upright thanks to a utility pole.
