Aiken Regional Faces DHEC Fine Over Cardiac Caths

The South Carolina DHEC issued an administrative order forcing Aiken Regional Medical Center to stop elective cardiac catheterizations and pay about 1.1 million dollars in fines. The order alleges 11 state law violations for offering the procedure without required approvals. The hospital says COE rules did not require state permission and has appealed, suspending elective caths while emergency services continue.

Plea For Truth In Sentencing Links Four Arrests
