In Harrisburg nine women and three men are sworn as jurors for the trial of antiwar priest Philip Berrigan and six co defendants. They face charges of conspiracy in 1970 to kidnap a presidential aide and to attack heating tunnels and draft boards to end US involvement in Southeast Asia. The panel includes one black juror and one Roman Catholic, with emphasis on Vietnam and activist backgrounds during two weeks of questioning.
In New Ellenton both parties filed full candidate slates for three council seats and a water commissioner post in the March 28 election. Democratic candidates include Pat Ticer Raymond Seigler Carl Langley and incumbent Guy Bryson seeking the water seat. Republicans field Jack R. Cofer Lynwood Williams Charles E Key and A J Hanna for the water post. Bryson has six years as water commissioner and all candidates list Savannah River Plant ties and local addresses.
South Carolina House approves constitutional amendment to legalize minibottles for hotels restaurants and private clubs by a narrow 84 to 32 vote. If Senate approves 31 votes the measure heads to a statewide vote this November. Enabling legislation with tax and anti brown bagging provisions passes 79 to 36 and would take effect July 1 1973 if the amendment passes.
The South Carolina House voted 84 to 32 to approve a constitutional amend ment resolution that would legalize liquor sales in minibottles if voters approve a statewide referendum in November. The roll call listed 84 yeas, 32 nays, and 8 no votes from several named representatives.

Superintendent G T Myers announced the delay at a county education board meeting as officials said assembling data may take weeks. Two new board members were seated and a new chairman will be chosen next month. guests from local industries attended to discuss vocational education programs.

Aiken Public Safety Director J C Busbee said Officer Larry Lowe is listed as good today and improving after a collision with a passenger car on Highway 19 at 12 30 am while chasing another vehicle. The crash killed Dobson H Boyd of Wagener and Lowe was treated at Aiken County Hospital for a severe facial laceration that reportedly cut the skull membrane. Lowe is married with two children.
Danny Ward Robertson 24 of Seattle was arrested in Miami on murder and assault charges tied to the June 18 Belvedere motorcycle clubhouse killings. He traveled 600 miles with SLED and FBI agents to face arraignment in Dade County Florida and appeared in Aiken County court to hire counsel. Robertson had claimed Navy service and previously resided near Charleston. The case adds to a list of defendants on death row or awaiting appeal for the clubhouse killings that night.
