Racetrack foes plan appeal to DHEC ruling
Opponents of a proposed racetrack near the Francis Beidler Forest say they will appeal the storm water permit to the DHEC board. Spokeswoman Donna McCaskill cited an expected Administrative Law Judge hearing. The judge previously ruled Interstate Speedway complied with permit rules for the half mile oval in Berkeley County. Forest advocates warn noise could disrupt wildlife and oil and gas residues could pollute water.
