Komodo dragon Muffin undergoes cataract surgery at National Zoo
Muffin the Komodo dragon, about six feet long and 42 pounds, had a cataract removed from her right eye in a possible first for the species. Zookeepers hope she can mate with Friendly, a much larger male, but warn aggression could pose a risk. The operation was performed at South Paws Veterinary Referral Center in Springfield.
