Aiken County Building Permits Down Sharply in 1978
Building permits in Aiken County fell 17 percent in the first nine months of 1978 from 44.6 million in 1977 to 36.9 million. The downturn is tied to predicted residential slowdowns, while Pickens County posted a statewide 73 percent rise. A public hearing on small business issues is set for tomorrow at USC Aiken.
