County Deputy Suspended After Fatal Broad Street Shooting

Aiken County Deputy Paul Hoehn 21 of North Augusta is relieved from duty while awaiting a hearing on voluntary manslaughter charges. He says he acted in self defense when three men attacked him and two companions with knives around 3 am on Broad Street Augusta. Two of the attackers, Douglas Clay also known as Lewis Wayne Walker 33 and Steve C Walker 28 both of Augusta, were wanted in a 1976 High Point murder case.
