USCA receives modern medical trainers funded by Mended Hearts
USC Aiken School of Nursing adds a heart monitor and crash cart with an AED after Mended Hearts Aiken chapter donated funds totaling about 21 000 since 2003. The equipment will be used in the on campus model hospital room and with patient simulators as students learn latest defibrillation technology and emergency care.

Whipped Cream Cans Tied to DUI Stop and Local Nuisance
An Aiken Public Safety officer stopped a driver on Sirius Drive amid suspected intoxication and found the motorist under the influence of an unknown substance with two open beer bottles and many whipped cream cans missing propellant. The driver claimed the cans were for POLICE BLOTTER strawberry shortcake. She was cited for driving under suspension. A burglary at Greg's Gas Plus on Jefferson Davis Highway yielded cash from an ice machine. video aided the investigation. A 2003 Mitsubishi Montero Sport was stolen from South Boundary Avenue, with a spare key hidden in the cup holder. Four teens received trespass notices at Churchill Commons after allegedly skipping school and were turned over to officials. Electronics and safe contents were reported stolen at a Kasey Lane residence.
