Aiken High School may appoint a new head football coach and athletic director for 1975. John Socha, who has held both roles for seven years, was informed he will be kept only as a Driver Education instructor next year. The change is not official until contracts are signed.
The Ford administration will revive low income housing support programs suspended by Nixon two years ago. However the new budget shows no additional federal spending to boost homebuilding for middle and upper income citizens, amid concerns over inefficiency and graft in prior programs.
The Ford administration proposes a $100 million reduction in anticrime spending while analyzing why recent large outlays have not curbed rising crime. The plan would complicate federal funding for programs to bolster police, courts and prisons.
The Menominee Warrior Society seizure of an unused mansion depends on evacuation terms. An agreement for the Menominee to acquire the property from a Roman Catholic order is hailed as a national Indian victory. About 40 demonstrators remain inside the 64 room mansion as the National Guard maintains an 825 man security perimeter.

Candidates for Area 3 and At Large on the Aiken County Board of Education include Robert E. Coward Rev John R. Williamson Augustus T. Stephens and incumbent Henry P. Moseley along with rivals for Area 3 W E Twilley Clifton L Williamson. Polls open at 8 a.m. and close at 7 p.m. with Vote-Matics at 46 precincts in Aiken and seven in Saluda County.
Belvedere grocer Larkin Brown, 62, was shot several times in the chest and placed in fair condition at University Hospital Augusta after a Sunday night robbery attempt at Brown's Red and White. His wife was beaten but not hospitalized as investigators pursued the suspect, a young black man who fled on foot.
The Aiken County Board of Commissioners is set to approve leasing 35 sheriff patrol cars from Satcher Motor Co at 290 a month per vehicle. The vote follows a Friday working session and will occur at USC Aiken Room 107 at 7 p.m. The meeting also considers salary increases for elected officials and staff totaling 11 299, public hearings on radio equipment for three constables, and an loan authorization of 25000 for the Public Service Authority.
