Ilishments shape 2 Future at Savannah River Site
The Savannah River Site reports major safety and technology gains including 70 percent lower illness and injury rates than the DOE average and over tenfold advantage versus national industry norms. It trained 450 safety observers, earned accreditation, and reduced workers compensation costs to about one tenth. It piloted vitrification, electron beam groundwater cleanup, and solvent removal, while expanding public involvement and community partnerships with colleges, scouts, and tours.
