South Carolina Aligns With Bennett Dream Curriculum

South Carolina officials say the states high schools already cover much of William Bennetts proposed core curriculum. The plan would require two years of foreign language and a year of fine arts, plus extra science and physical education courses, totaling about 20 courses for graduation. Paskel notes states set their own standards and vocational tracks would serve non college bound students. Bennett describes the plan as a goal and ideal rather than a rigid mandate for all students.
