Suspect Called Slavedriver In Family Murder Rampage

In Dover Arkansas neighbors and classmates described R Gene Simmons Sr as a sullen domineering father who forced hard work on his family. He is suspected of killing 16 people during a Christmas time shooting spree and faces murder charges to be filed later this week. A judge ordered him held without bond. Relatives say he, 47, incested with another slain daughter years earlier and fathered her child who also was killed. Simmons had previously faced incest charges in 1981 that were dropped.
