F Klenke Staubes new Police Committee chairman announces stricter chaperonage for public dances in Aiken. He cites drinking profanity and boisterous conduct as lax and says licenses may be restricted to protect youth. He calls on parents to enforce family discipline and moral guardianship.

Judge Hayne F. Rice names John R. Jordan and W. O. Johnson as receivers for Gaston Bank & Trust Co. Bonds fixed at 10000 each. Receivers to audit by State Bank Examiner and begin liquidation. Bank closed over two years ago under W. W. Bradley with Col. D. W. Gaston Sr. as agent. No dividends yet. wind up expected vigorously. State Bank Examiner Fant and auditors to audit affairs in Aiken next week.
Checks totaling 9a 822 were mailed to stockholders of Aiken banks Bank of Western Carolina and Farmers Merchants Bank. Bank of Western Carolina paid a 4 percent quarterly dividend totaling 11 572, while Farmers Merchants Bank issued a 5 percent semi annual dividend totaling 250, amounting to a 10 percent yearly yield.
J. M. Kibler the newly elected chief will be sworn in by Mayor Frank P. Henderson tomorrow along with two new patrolmen Willis Arthur and James Booth and the streets superintendent. He calls for public support in enforcing the law.

Sheriff Nellie Robinson and deputies raided the Savannah River swamp destroying a 25 gallon whiskey still and later a large island operation with 2800 gallons of beer. A warrant for Sam Thomas was sworn, and R L Hutson was jailed near Ellenton on liquor transport charges. A raid near Vaucluse seized a 40 gallon still and 30 gallons of mash while John Moore was arrested. About 225000 pounds of pecans were graded and sold in South Carolina through the Cooperative Association.

Columbia reports Comptroller General A J Beattie estimates that merging the Tax Commission into his office could cut about $100000 yearly. The move would consolidate two departments and end salaries to three commissioners while maintaining efficiency, amid looming budget pressures and reassessment cuts. The idea aligns with Governor-elect John G Richards pledge to economy. Continued discussion expected in the 1927 General Assembly.
Rebecca Rogers of Austin a 22 year old co ed bandit is charged with holding up Farmers National Bank at Buda Texas. After bail she married and now faces trial following her honeymoon.
The county health department detailed a year of extensive activity led by Dr. Wm. G. with 464 homes visited and 1 470 people consulting the office. Vaccinations and inoculations climbed, 1223 smallpox shots recorded, 2003 schools examined, 1462 faulty, 3825 hookworm cases treated, and the public health nurse covering 7 268 miles visiting 312 homes and organizing 248 rural health clubs.

Special Agent Sam S. Moseley reports Aiken County ginned 36,276 bales of cotton by December 13, up from 29,596 a year earlier, an increase of 6,680 bales over 1925.
The mid-winter term of Aiken County General Sessions Court will open January 24 with Judge Henry Johnson of Allendale presiding.
