Hostages in Lima to receive letters from relatives
In Lima Peru nearly 83 hostages held by Tupac Amaru rebels will be allowed to receive a letter from relatives marking a holiday gesture. Red Cross officials said the letter delivery and a same day reply will ease emotional strain for captives and families while rebels remain firm on demands. The gesture follows days of restricted contact at the Japanese ambassador’s residence where hostages are held.
