In North Augusta a jeep wreck on a frontage road near I 20 claimed Branwen Bryan 15 at the scene and later killed Johnny Wright Williams Jr 16 with MCG authorities confirming his death. Five teens were ejected from the vehicle as it rolled down an embankment with Brent Zachow Larry Lewis and James Wayne Dowd treated or released in hospital.

Don Preston Williams, an Augusta based federal probation officer, is contesting extradition for the murder of Belk executive Cyrus Lee Howard. Brave Homeless WWII Vet Buried at Arlington Amid Honor
World War II veteran Jesse Carpenter, 61, who lived homeless near the White House after leaving his family in 1962, was buried at Arlington National Cemetery.
