Fatal Lancaster Jail Fire Ends Ten Inmates’ Lives
A 156 year old Lancaster County jail dubbed a fortress by officials burned on Thursday night killing ten inmates and injuring others. Investigators from SLED opened an arson inquiry with suspicions but no confirmed cause. Firefighters controlled the blaze by 7 30 p m as authorities prepared to move the jail in two weeks to a new site.

Wage guideline to change in low-wage industries
Washington policy officials say low wage industries will face changes as the ewer administration’s wage ceiling rules adapt. Marks by Sullivan of the Council on Wage and Price Stability indicate that workplaces with average wages below 5.35 dollars an hour may ignore ceiling increases, with exemptions for those earning under four dollars an hour. The regulation, effective soon, does not apply to prices charged by these employers.
