In Las Vegas police report a man fired on his ex wife and three others early today wounding two before pursuing and killing the ex wife and himself. Victim names not released by Metropolitan Police.
Two Chinese high school students Tian Chunliang and Wang Nianging were chosen from 7,000 applicants for a 1988 U S shuttle flight project. They will travel to Kennedy Space Center to observe the launch and test their experiments aboard the shuttle. Tian from Shenyang will study solidification of compounds in a fluid state while Wang from Lanzhou will test space garbage disposal methods.
A considerable chance of rain clouds the weekend with cloudy cool tonight and Lows in the upper 30s. Tomorrow remains mostly cloudy with a high near 50 and a 40 percent rain probability as details are continued on Page 14A.

The Iraqi jetliner crashed after a hijack attempt at Arar airstrip in Saudi Arabia. At least 62 people were killed with officials citing explosion sounds in the cockpit and gunfire. Iran denied involvement though anonymous Beirut calls claimed ties to three groups.
A British owned tanker struck a rock on Iceland's east coast and sank with 12 crew aboard. Nine dead, one survivor dying soon after, six bodies recovered in life jackets, three still missing. Rescue officials said liferaft launch was impossible near the rock and a distress flare aided locating the vessel.
