DOE aims NPR at SRS set to replace reactors for tritium
In August 1988 DOE recommended Congress build the NPR at SRS to supply all U.S. tritium needs, supplanting existing reactors. The $3.4 billion gas-cooled NPR would operate by 2000, with Idaho National Laboratory backup producing up to 50 percent. DOE awarded $10 million design contracts in 1989, with a selection in 1990.

Decorations Fill The Dining Room In Holiday Display
A gaunt table brims with hundreds of colorful decorations from Santa statues to blinking lights. The newest feature is a large waterfall crafted from angel hair wax and yard rocks. Mrs. Roberts noted the display took nearly a month to finish and will take a few days to dismantle, as decorations often stay up well into January. Mrs. Herron praised the creator’s work.
