Millennium couple tours all fifty states in cross nation trek

Cesar Becerra and Maud Dillingham, Miami, crossed into South Carolina marking their 49th state on a quest to visit all fifty before 1999 ends. They drive a 1979 Chevy Malibu, averaging a week per state, to document "slice of life America" for a time capsule at Cesar's alma mater.

St Mary’s students shine at Statesboro Model UN event

Seventh and eighth graders from St Mary Help of Christians Catholic School excelled at a Model United Nations in Statesboro Georgia. The team represented France Albania Croatia the Netherlands and Grenada. Lesley Firestone and Patty Grant won the General Assembly top award for France with honorable mention in Security Council and NATO. Advisors were Ann Ward and Jean Cook.

Computer Class Offered at Midland Valley High School Lab

A computer class runs Tuesdays at Midland Valley High School laboratory through May 18 2000 from 6 15 to 9 15 pm. Students may join anytime during the hours and work as long as desired. The course covers 25 hours keyboarding and 25 hours computer applications with a $30 registration. Diploma students can earn one computer literacy credit and others learn basic computer use. call 641 2476 for details.
