Washington officials expect higher consumer prices with November inflation around 10 percent. New home prices rose 4.4 percent in July-September and are 16 percent higher than last year, with a typical one family home selling for 63 600. Buyers remain undeterred by housing costs as the inflation fight continues into mid-1979.
A standing room crowd grilled the North Augusta Planning and Zoning Commission and a developer about the planned North Augusta Gardens apartment complex on Plank Road. Residents fear higher traffic and overloaded utilities. the zoning allows the project, with remedies limited to court action and city council input.
