Man accused of spitting on body in casket

A Florence man, Roosevelt Graham, 48, was charged with one count of desecrating human remains after allegedly spitting on a body in a casket. He posted a $10,000 bond. The incident followed a nightclub shooting at the Lucky 12 Lounge where two men died. Graham was reportedly upset about the death of his friend, club owner Matthew Mitchell.

Appeals Allowed In January In Aiken County Property Tax

Aiken County officials say property owners who missed the summer appeals window may file appeals on 1995 assessments starting in January. Appeals remain possible only for errors identified during revaluation issued in 1904 notices, with courtesy appeals allowed for certain misclassifications. Hearings can take weeks or months and more than 12 000 appeals have already been heard due to the recent reassessment.

Washington AP reports FAA Deputy Administrator Linda Hall Daschle approved Santa Claus Christmas flight plan noting Santa does not age. The plan lists sleigh as aircraft, true airspeed 350 knots, rooftop height, oats fuel, reindeer with woolen neck warmers and Daschle says departures occur when kids are asleep and eyes are closed.

NationsBank to Close Northside Aiken Branch

NationsBank plans to close its Northside Aiken branch in mid-April consolidating with the downtown main office. About eight employees will transfer. customers will receive at least 90 days’ notice.
