Westinghouse Savannah River Company proposed eliminating 1200 jobs in the current year and 600 to 800 more in 2006 at the Savannah River Site. The plan, sent to the DOE, includes no early retirement. a self select option could offer voluntary exits with severance. Pedde expects worker notifications in early 2005.

I 95 crash kills Aiken truck driver
An Aiken man identified as Donald Seigler, 56, died when his tractor trailer hauling tomatoes rear ended a flatbed on I 95 in Glynn County Georgia. The other driver Lloyd Holdman of Illinois was not injured. the crash at 6 a.m. backed up traffic for miles.
