Belvedere man found dead in jail awaiting extradition hearing
Robert Edward Richardson 36 of McNair Drive was found hanged in a Richmond County jail cell shortly before 5 a.m. He was awaiting an extradition hearing after a Dec. 11 Georgia arrest on traffic charges and a separate Aiken County case for domestic violence and assault. Police said the death appears self-inflicted.
