Woman pleads guilty to receiving hurricane aid funds
A 31 year old Columbia woman pleaded guilty to receiving more than $1000 by falsely claiming hurricane victim status. Latasia Lyons admitted she lived in South Carolina since 1996 and was not a resident of Louisiana or Texas during the 2005 storms. She also pleaded guilty to falsely using a social security number on an assistance application. Judge Cameron Currie will sentence her later.
