A 91 page Borman commission report finds the U S Military Academy inadequately handled the large cheating scandal and urges readmission for ousted cadets. Pentagon sources say the panel headed by former astronaut Frank Borman recommends swift action and will release a second critique of Army lawyers involved in the defense.
A large explosion struck Baghdad International Airport killing six and injuring 300 to 400 as passengers, including Muslim pilgrims, waited for departures. British Airways said it had no further details on the cause and was assessing the situation.
In Madrid radical left kidnappers threaten to kill Antonio Maria de Oriol, 63, senior adviser to the king, unless 15 political prisoners are released. Authorities say early voting for the national referendum proceeded peacefully despite fears of clashes. The government refuses to bargain.

Valley High School Options on three tracts approved by the Aiken County School Board. A 180.9 acre primary site owned by United Merchants and Manufacturing Co. near Duncan and Cemetery Roads carries a 112000 price with a 12 month option for 1000. Smaller tracts will supply access with a total purchase of 1550. The board may condemn if negotiations fail.
