Atys B Cubbedge of Belhaven NC beloved husband of Frankie Holley Cubbedge for fifty two years died Tuesday December 9 2014. Born July 1 1935 he grew up in Sylvan ia Georgia served in the US Army then worked in retail clothing in Beaufort South Carolina before joining the Aiken Standard for 19 years in advertising and public relations. He retired to Graniteville and later owned Holley Bar B Que. in 2000 he and Frankie moved to The Pungo River area North Carolina. He is survived by Frankie their two children Barry and Lynn Kenner three grandchildren and several in laws. The funeral was held December 18 2014 at 1 PM at Graniteville First Baptist Church.

Judge: Mom who drove kids into ocean was insane
In Daytona Beach Florida Circuit Judge Leah Case ruled Ebony Wilkerson a 33 year old South Carolina mother was insane at the time she drove her three children into the ocean. She was found not guilty by reason of insanity on the child abuse counts and three attempted murder charges were dropped. A hearing was set to consider involuntary hospitalization or release with supervision.
